Brand TikTok Know-How… Bulletin Board
New TikTok “Bulletin Board”: What Brands Need to Know About the New Messaging Tool
TikTok has this week officially unveiled Bulletin Board – a new feature designed to help brands and creators share content directly with their followers.
Sound familiar?
That may be because it is TikTok’s answer to broadcast channels on Instagram, a format that has fast grown as a staple go-to for creators looking to develop their audience engagement.
A New Way to Reach a TikTok Audience?
A ‘one-to-many’ broadcast channel, Bulletin Board makes it quick and easy to share brand news with the TikTok community.
Brands and content creators can publish messages, while followers can respond using emoji reactions. Text, images and video can all be shared, giving brands the opportunity to share new product news, offers, brand updates, tease new launches and provide Bulletin Board exclusive content, all obviously within the community guidelines.
The feature is now rolling out to creators who are 18+ with at least 50,000 followers. Let’s hope this will roll out further for those with a smaller community of really engaged followers.
Why Does the TikTok Bulletin Board Matter?
TikTok’s algorithm may be unrivalled when it comes to content discovery, but it hasn’t always offered a quick and easy way for creators to speak directly to their followers. Bulletin Board will change that, driving more traffic to content on and off platform and strengthening loyalty to the brand. It will facilitate direct relevant communication in a crowded space where user behaviour changes by the day, enabling better follower relationships and brand visibility.
